Synopsis

On the remote island of Saint Helena, a British territory where Napoleon was famously captured, lies some of the most significant historical evidence of the Atlantic slave trade. When environmental officer Annina Van Neel begins advocating for proper burial of human remains uncovered during the construction of a new airport, she steps into the fraught territory of a global reckoning with slavery.
