Synopsis

The great Barbara Stanwyck — who brings a tough, no-nonsense quality to all her performances — really cuts loose in this film about a criminal catching the eye of a crusading radio personality who makes it his special mission to remove all antisocial traits from her. Good luck. Stanwyck is on fire here, especially during the scenes in the women’s prison where she asserts her dominance over the cell block. In 35mm.
