Synopsis

This new doc about free-jazz drummer and all-around creative dynamo Milford Graves is made in an appropriately free-flowing and discursive style. More than just a musician, the now-76 years old Graves is also a metaphysician and a theorist of musical ephemera. The film follows Graves down some winding paths of meaning and aesthetic speculation that prove to be very interesting and rewarding.
