Synopsis

MONSIEUR HIRE (played with cold-eyed inscrutability by Michel Blanc) takes a peek inside the windows of a lovely young woman (Sandrine Bonnaire, VAGABOND) and draws back the shades on her secrets in this chilling lesson in suspense from underrated master Patrice Leconte, here adapting Georges Simenon’s Les Fiançailles de M. Hire, first filmed as Julien Duvivier’s PANIQUE.
