Synopsis

Love is wet. And a woman’s excited emissions just may hold the key to the local pollution crises when an unemployed salaryman (Koji Yakusho, star of CURE) embarks on a steamy affair with Saeko (Misa Shimizu), an ordinary woman with an exceptional problem: inside she holds a well of warm water, longing for release. Utterly absurd, delightfully magical, and—for some—unsettlingly erotic, this final film from two-time Palme d’Or winner Shōhei Imamura presents a one-woman solution to dry land.
